Nigeria Orders Strategic Sea lift Vessel SSV From PT-PAL Indonesia






PT-PAL Indonesia has confirmed Nigeria’s order of purchase for the Strategic Sea lift Vessel, According to PT-PAL president director Budiman Saleh who confirmed the order while speaking with journalists over the weekend.
According to Saleh, Malaysia had ordered a Landing Platform Dock (LPD) that could transport up to five helicopters; Nigeria had ordered one SSV; Senegal had ordered one LPD ship along with two Clurit class fast attack craft KCR-35 meter ships and three KCR-60 meter ships; and Guyana Bissau and Gabon had ordered KCR-60 meter ships.
The acquisition of the SSV capable of carry two helicopters, five hundred troops and thirty days of endurance is seen as a big boost to the  Navy’s amphibious landing and power projection.
